The goal of the “Teamwork and Leadership Development” program is to immerse participants into experiences where they will learn new methods, perspectives, and approaches pertaining to teamwork, group process and leadership. Guided by a facilitator and sailing instructor, you will learn to improve communication, encourage leadership within small groups and evaluate and solve problems in a rapidly changing coastal environment. The one-day workshop will consist of several team activities geared toward developing teamwork through group challenge and cooperation of sailing a boat. Each position in the sailing of a boat is critical towards achieving a specific goal on the water. With coordination and communication, the challenge of achieving the goals becomes a fun learning experience. A maximum crew of six people with a facilitator and captain are assigned to each boat. USCG Licensed captains promote safety on the water and ensure a “smooth sailing” experience.
A winning team is one that continually self-evaluates, adapts to new situations, and is comfortable making changes. These skills do not simply emerge. Workgroups learn these skills through challenging programs. The training we offer will help teams learn to continually improve their efficiency and their services.
